Llys Glan-Yr-Afon

LMA were appointed to design a 48 unit extra-care facility in the picturesque town of Newtown, overlooking the River Severn. The design had to meet the Welsh Government Design Quality Requirements and respond to onerous planning restrictions.

This scheme is the first of its kind in Powys that provides extra-care and was built in partnership between Wales and West Housing and Powys County Council. The development is Secure by Design and provides residents with a range of facilities including a restaurant, treatment rooms, hairdresser and 24 hour care support. It also includes landscaped gardens and secure parking.
