Lovelock Mitchell were successful in a competitive design bid for this interesting project in Anglesey, North Wales for a salt production facility.

The site is outstanding, situated on the edge of the Menai Straits with excellent views across to Caernarfon and Snowdon beyond. We developed a building that reflects both the quality of the client's product and their strong commitment to sustainability while respecting the unique and sensitive surroundings.

Our design sketches show a grass roofed building - a green fold or wave in the field, which merges the new building into the existing landscape. Material for the mounding is taken from the site excavations thus minimizing offsite waste landfill and the overall form reflects the shapes of nearby local ancient earth works. We were successful in obtaining Planning Approval for a major industrial building in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
