Uncovering a Vision at Bangor University
Every building has a second life in it — if you’re willing to look closely enough.
We’re pleased to be working on the next chapter of the Albert Gubay / Friars Building at Bangor University — a project shaped by history, but very much focused on the future.
Having taken over the design of the scheme late in 2025, we’ve been getting under the skin of the building — understanding its structure, its story, and the many layers of change it’s already seen.
There’s something particularly rewarding about projects like this. They ask you to balance respect with reinvention: what to hold onto, what to adapt, and where to be bold. It’s less about imposing a vision, and more about uncovering one that’s already there.
We’re looking forward to sharing more as the next phase takes shape.
