Lecture: Inclusive Design | Education Buildings Wales Conference

Lovelock Mitchell have been designing school buildings for a long time. Our first was in 1868, and since then we’ve become experts in the education sector. We were recently asked to present a case study in inclusive design at the 2025 Education Buildings Wales conference, exploring how thoughtful environments can better support all learners.

Ysgol Robert Owen is a pioneering Additional Learning Needs (ALN) school in Newtown, Powys. The presentation was structured around five key principles for ALN design:
