The Lovelock Mitchell postage stamp

The Lovelock Mitchell postage stamp! 50 years ago today, one of our buildings appeared on a special commemorative Royal Mail stamp.

1 Bridge St / 2-4 Eastgate was designed by LMA’s founder Thomas Lockwood in 1888. It has since become a well-loved icon of Chester, and in 1975 it was chosen as one of just six British buildings to represent the best of European Architectural Heritage, alongside the National Theatre London, St George’s Chapel Windsor, Charlotte Square Edinburgh, and Royal Observatory, Greenwich.

We have an impressive architectural drawing of the building hanging on our office wall, to inspire us every day.
