Opening of our Wrexham University building

Great to attend an opening celebration of our new Engineering Enterprise and Optics centre at Wrexham University this week.

The team have worked hard to achieve a bold contemporary form, enclosing some very tasteful modern internal spaces. In particular, the way the geometric façade folds down onto an inverted brick triangle was the result of some innovative technical design!

Lovelock Mitchell have a long history with Wrexham and academic success. The university’s original brick building was designed by our firm in the 1950s, and before that, in the 1920s our forefathers Philip Lockwood and Professor Patrick Abercrombie masterplanned the Acton Park area of Wrexham, a case study which set Abercombie on a path to become a world-renowned academic and urban designer.
