Enterprise Engineering and Optics Centre
As part of the North Wales Growth Deal, the £11 million Enterprise, Engineering, and Optics Centre (EEOC) is a flagship project aimed at driving innovation and investment in the region. Supported by £240 million from the Welsh and UK Governments, the 2,187 m² facility will serve as a hub for the design and construction of products involving composites and optics.
The centre, designated as a high-value manufacturing project, will enable the university to collaborate with business partners and conduct cutting-edge research into lightweight composite materials and hydrogen fuel adoption, supporting the transition to a low carbon economy.
The project forms part of the University’s £80m Campus 2025 strategy, dedicated to improving university campuses, ensuring that students have access to best facilities and learning environment. Construction began in February 2024, with completion expected by Spring/ Summer 2025.
