Glasdir School Development

Places to Learn

Sensitive to its rural context, while contemporary in style, Glasdir is a new modern education campus that enabled two separately operated primary schools to be co-located on one site.

The new development manages historic site flooding issues allowing large volumes of flood water to be retained on site, protecting adjacent housing developments. The building form has been influenced by the agricultural setting, using a carefully selected palette of materials to create a façade that balances the unification of the building whilst retaining the individual brand identity of the two schools.

Innovative off-site methods of construction and BIM Level 2 processes ensured that the school was delivered from inception to site in less than 6 months.
