Mynydd Isa

LMA were appointed by Clwyd Housing Association to provide a residential development on this large site in the centre of Mynydd Isa. Previously owned by a housing developer a planning permission for a residential scheme had been approved, however the dwellings did not meet the criteria of the client who required affordable housing in line with Welsh Governments Design Quality Requirements.

LMA provided a number of options for the site to meet the challenging topography and area of wetland / alluvium fill present on the site. Eventually a scheme of 56 dwellings ranging from 1 bed walk up apartments, 2/3 bed houses and a 3 bed accessible bungalow was submitted and received full planning permission.

The proposed design takes into account the topography, aspect and proximity to neighbours to provide a development which meets the needs of all. A nature style reserve area has also been created where the wetland to the site is located suitable for many native species of flora and forna as well as an improved area for nature to thrive.
